David Cornwell, an attorney for retired running back Ricky Williams, said Tuesday he is trying to arrange a meeting with the NFL to convince the league that Ricky Williams should be reinstated to play this season without facing a suspension. Representatives for Williams filed retirement papers in August several weeks after it was learned that he had failed a third drug test for marijuana, which carries an automatic four-game suspension. Under NFL rules, Williams would face an automatic yearlong ban if returning from retirement before one calendar year had expired....
